Explore Morbihan from our Le Moténo Campsite.
Make the most of our campsite’s ideal geographic location and head off to discover Morbihan, one of the most beautiful Breton departments! Head off on foot to discover the Ria d’Etel nearby, and while you’re at it, take a walk along the coast, up north to Lorient or south in the direction of the Gulf of Morbihan. In Lorient, make sure you stop by the old submarine base, built by the Germans during WWII. You can also visit the cité de la mer Eric Tabarly Museum. Built to protection the harbour of Lorient, the fortress of Port Louis is home to two museums : The Navy Museum and the East India Company Museum.

And don’t forget the Gulf of Morbihan, one of the most natural and incredible tourist sites in all of Brittany! There, visitors can admire the fifty or so little islets located in the middle of this enclosed sea, home to its own little micro-climate! Around the Golf, there is a many a spot to visit, starting with the peninsula of Quiberon, as well as the commune of Carnac and its megalithic alignments. You could also check out Vannes and its medieval centre. On the other side of the Gulf of Morbihan, you have the château de Suscino, the summer dwelling of the Dukes of Brittany and the seaside resort of Crouesty – Port Navalo also worth a proper visit.

And why not push on a little further into the land and the inner region of Morbihan, which holds plenty of hidden treasures of its own! In Auray, the port of Saint Goustan is a scenic little spot that’s steeped in history, (for example, it was on these very docks that Benjamin Franklin berthed his ship and went to the king of France, Louis XVI to plead him to help the American insurgents in their quest for independence). In Hennebont, it is the town’s walls and ramparts that merit a visit, as well as the châteaux de Pontivy, Josselin and La Gacilly, the town of artists…
