Discover the wonders of Charente-Maritime

Les Couleurs de la Coubre Campsite - - Charente-Maritime - View of Atlantic Coast and a cyclist near La Palmyre

During your stay at your Yukadi Villages Le Logis campsite, take the time to discover the tourist destination that is Royan-La Palmyre, and if you wish to spread out further, the large array of tourist treasures Charente-Maritime has to offer. Located in Les Mathes, a seaside resort next to that of Royan, our establishment allows visitors to travel around and explore the entire department, from the estuary of Gironde right down south to the city of La Rochelle up in the north. Then, between the two, along the coast, don’t miss a chance to explore the île de Ré and île d’Oléron, and also right near the mouth of Charente, the ancient Arsenal Royal de Rochefort, which today house the Navy Museum and the Corderie Royale rope factory.

Thanks to its mild, warm climate, Royan-La Palmyre, the beneficiary of 2200 to 2.500 hours of sunlight each is famous for its beaches and its water-based sports and recreational activities. But more than that, the town of Royan is also renowned for its rich architectural heritage, with stunning towns that mirror the Belle Epoque (such as Saint-Palais-sur-Mer), and its modern, post-war buildings. The National Forest of La Coubre separates Royan and Saint Palais from the commune of Les Mathes and its seaside area, La Palmyre, and is full of various hiking footpaths.
