Discover the château de Chambord
The château de Chambord is considered the most famous monument of Vallée de la Loire. This attribution makes it a must-see site when exploring the different châteaux of the Loire. With just a mere 436 rooms, this château is the definition of immense and inordinate. When it comes to visiting this famous 16th century chateau, there are many options available:
- You can rent a boat: enjoy a gentle boat ride on the water in a rowing boat or electric boat, available at the Chambord jetty. Open from 9:30 am to 7 pm. Boat rides close at 6 pm.
- Golf cart: explore around the exterior of the chateau in an electric golf cart, perfect for an excursion with family or friends. Golf carts seat up to 4 people, and are available at the same location as the boats. Visitors must be 21 and over and have a valid driving license.
- Bike or Rosalie cycle: for those after a more dynamic excursion, there are over 12 miles of marked-out cycle paths available, including a 2 mile-plus circuit that goes all around the chateau. Bicycle and Rosalie rentals are available to all!
- Pedestrian walkways: discover the fauna and flora of Chambord thanks to the 12 mile long pedestrian walkways. These walkways are free and accessible to all visitors, all year-round, as well as the perfect opportunity to bury your nose in nature.
- Observatories: The observatories in the area, located all along the pedestrian and cycle pathways, offer many inviting viewpoints in order to appreciate the fauna and vegetation of the domain in all its glory.
