Explore the peninsula of Guérande
Discover the marvels of the peninsula of Guérande
Located just a mere mile from the town centre of La Turballe, our Yelloh! Village Parc Sainte Brigitte Campsite is the perfect starting point to head off and discover the peninsula of Guérande and its hidden treasures. Above this peninsula, you will find the Côte d’Amour, the name given to the Loire Atlantique coast, between the estuaries of Vilaine and the Loire. This coast is bursting with beaches, wild cliffs and other rocky coves, plenty of perfect spots to put down your towel and take a swim or try your hand at one of the many available water-based activities! Make the most of your stay in La Turballe to go and explore this stunning region, one of the most beautiful and most tourist-friendly of all the French coast…
Just a few feet from the Parc Sainte Brigitte Campsite, the medieval centre of Guérande stands proud and tall on a highly-fortified point. From the top of the 1300 metre-long ramparts, it is easy to imagine how life was during the times of the Dukes of Brittany, in a town which has long lived off the riches produced by its salt marshes. By the way, don’t forget to pick a packet of the famous fleur de sel yourself from an oyster farmer on the road from Batz sur Mer to Croisic. These two enchanting, charming villages are a must when visiting this peninsula. And once there, make sure you head to the Grand Blockhaus Museum, where on one side, you can admire one of the largest structures of the Atlantic Wall in France, before heading to the Oceanarium on the other. Among the many tourist hotspots located near La Turballe, we highly recommend visiting the Parc de Brière, the second largest marshland in France, second only to that of the Camarague. With its intertwining canals, its waterways and its reed beds, the Parc Naturel de Brière stretches over 6700 hectares and is home to a large, diverse world of nature.
Another wonder located near to our Parc Sainte Brigitte Campsite is La Baule Bay. This bay stretches over 5 miles, from Pornichet to Pouliguen, and not only that, it is considered to be one of the most beautiful bays in the world! La Riviera Bauloise promises its guests a holiday break bursting with enjoyment and relaxation, with something for everyone: a delicious moment on the terrace of a restaurant with some equally delicious seafood, wandering in the shade of the pine forest, or the hot sand of the stunning beaches. Or windsurfing where the wind takes you. There are also many houses and sumptuous villas, innovative architectural wonders, an incredible blend of time periods, style, and materials… All of which contributes nicely to the charm of this charming seaside resort…
